Reflection Through the Years
All three years of art I have taken have been amazing. I love my art classes and my teachers. I have definitely learned a lot and I can see when looking back on my work that I have matured and have learned new skills. Drawing techniques and my usage of tools and colored pencils have improved a lot. Art has made me more confident and realize that not everything will turn out exactly as wanted. My years of art have been wonderful and I will miss seeing my teacher and other class mates everyday, although I can always come back and visit! :)

Blind Contour
Another one of our projects was making a blind contour page. We not only made a blind contour of ourselves but we filled out a page of unfinished sentences that describe ourselves. For example, My Name is... or I am... and we had to incorporate it into our drawing. Some of the drawings are colored and some are just black and white like mine. This is my page hope you like it!
Lanterns
One of our projects was making a lantern out of paper. We cut out the design we wanted and then put tracing paper on the back. Most of the students used glass containers to put inside their lanterns and so when they lit a candle, put it inside the glass container, and turned off the lights you could see the design. We also had to pick a seasonal theme like summer, fall, winter, or spring. For my lantern i picked spring, liked the idea of the plants growing again and trees growing out their leaves and i think it is a very nice time of the year. For my lanterns i decided to to make them hang with a light bulb inside instead of a candle and for my one lantern i tinted the tracing paper so it was not just white. It was a long process and a little tedious considering for my one lantern i had to manually glue the entire paper and tracing paper together, but I am very happy with the way my lanterns had come out.
The Empty Bowls Dinner
Haddon Township High School is holding a dinner in their cafeteria on February 9th to raise money to feed families that are starving. The art classes have been working on clay bowls, designing them, and glazing them for anyone interested to buy and eat out of for this dinner.I personally have never gone to this dinner but I plan on attending this year and eating some of the delicious food that families and local businesses have donated. The school is always looking for more food donations for this event, it is very much appreciated when anyone pitches in. So spread the word! and even if you cannot donate then come and chow down on some yummy pasta and soup! I have taken some pictures of the bowls that were made and they have turned out beautifully!

Necklace
In middle school the students in my class were assigned to pick a piece of art they liked and draw it on a piece of plastic then my teacher would shrink it and turn it into a necklace or key chain. I thought it was funny because I chose one of Georgia O'Keeffe's pieces of art named "Red Canna" and had absolutely no idea who the artist was or anything, I just really liked the picture. It obviously is not nearly as good as her painting but hey I tried!
